Basic Golfing Tips For Beginners: 2 By: Rhys Jones

"Drive for show, putt for dough" is the lesson we've all seen and learned from watching the professional golfers in every tournament and championship either live or on TV.

The masters of golf can drive a ball from here to eternity, but it all boils down to how many strikes of the ball it takes to put the ball in the hole. The long accurate drives don't amount to anything if you're unable to putt the ball accurately.

Choosing a putter is very important, but using whatever putter you have consistently is even more so. I've had the same putter for fifteen years: I know what it feels like in my hand; I know it's weight; I know how that plays into my putts.

Putting takes a great deal of practice. For example, typically, we drive the ball eighteen times during a game, but putt at least twice that amount. So doesn't it make sense that we should practice our putting at least twice as much as our driving? So, if you can't get to the practice green often enough, just practice on your carpet at home.

Keep in mind that no ball can make it into the hole, if it doesn't have enough power behind it to get it there. Take the time to get down on the grass and look at the path from your ball to the hole. Does it slant one way or the other? Is it uphill or downhill?

So, stand with your feet spread apart for balance and line up the putt. Keep you hands, arms and shoulders completely still. Imagine that you are a "bobble head" but that you move from just below your chest. Keep your head directly over the ball. Pull your club back; keep your hands, wrists, arms and shoulders steady - the movement comes from your chest. Hit the ball, following the ball through with your club.

Try to learn from each putt and remember the lesson. Practice, practice, practice!

How to Convert Microsoft Word Documents to PDF File Format

Guest post by Roshan Ahmed.
How can you easily convert Microsoft Word to PDF file format. Converting files from one format to others without any loss of quality, quantity and money is a very serious trouble since slice breads!

Convert Word to PDF

It was recently I wrote my first eBook and I wrote it in Microsoft Word 2007. Once I completed the book I tried to covert it from ‘.docx’ format to ‘.pdf’ since PDF is a portable file type. I spent hours to find a suitable add-in to convert it. There were lots of free software but they never converted my files to pdf retaining the hyperlinks in the book.

I didn’t want to buy a PDF converter for this purpose, so I just ignored the ones which weren’t free. Finally I got into Microsoft’s official page and downloaded their add-in. It did the job, perfectly!

So if you’re having problems with converting docx to pdf, just follow the simple steps below and convert you Microsoft Office files into high quality pdf files.

Download and Install Add-in

It’s too simple and is just like installing any other software. Just follow the steps below -

  1. Go to Microsoft’s official download page and download ‘Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS’ add-in from there.
  2. After downloading the file, double click to install it – just the way you install anything else.
  3. The job is done.

How to save the Word document to PDF format

After the installation, open the document you want to save as PDF. Now from the ‘Quick access toolbar’ at the top right corner select the customize option. Select the ‘More commands’ option and add ‘save as other formats’. Now you’ll see the ‘Save as’ button on the quick access toolbar and you can use it to save your file as PDF quickly and easily.

word to pdf

Or just use the keyboard shortcut F12 key to open the ‘Save As’ dialogue box and change the file format to PDF.

This is a very useful and free tool and it can convert other Microsoft Office 2007 files to pdf as well. Note that this add-in will not be listed under the ‘add-ins’ tab of the Word; you have to select ‘Save As’ option.

Can The Tourism Industry Be Fully Green? By: Luis Gabriel David García

Very often it is stated that tourism is the "industry without smokestacks," yet it is still far from being a sector of the economy with zero impact on the environment and natural resources. Proof of this is the fact that pressure at this time of summer generates a large influx of tourists on the Mediterranean coast, the largest spa destination in Europe (150 million tourists each year). The visitors increase local consumption of energy and water (which is scarce in the Iberian peninsula due to the severe drought), produce more waste and burn more fuel contaminants in their travels.

This not counting the damage that can occur on nature reserves open to the so-called ecotourism when this is done without proper planning and without the participation of native communities, especially in regions of high biodiversity of the planet where the ecological wealth coexists with human poverty.

However, the top international body in the sector, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), believes in the viability of sustainable tourism, saying that institutionally "The guidelines for sustainable tourism development and sustainable management practices are applicable to all Forms of tourism in all types of destinations, including mass tourism and various tourism segments. "

For the UNWTO, tourism is sustainable when there is an optimum use of environmental resources that are an essential element of tourism development, maintaining essential ecological processes and helping to conserve natural resources and biodiversity.

Two other requirements, listed by the WTO to consolidate tourism as a sustainable industry, are: respect the cultural authenticity of host communities (while retaining its architectural and cultural assets of their traditional values, while contributing to tolerance and intercultural understanding) and ensuring viable economic activities in the long run, including employment opportunities and income and social services to host communities, thus contributing to poverty reduction.

Various documents of the World Tourism Organization lay the foundation for the pursuit of environmental sustainability in this industry. This is the case with the Quebec Declaration on Ecotourism "(2002), the Djerba Declaration on Tourism and Climate Change "(2003), and the recent" Muscat Declaration on the architectural environment of Sustainable Tourism "(2005).

Make Your Own Web Site By Stephen J Hart

Make you own web site - It sounds difficult, but it is not that difficult when you know a few simple rules.

The worlds economy is in a terrible state. Many countries are cutting back on spending to help pay off the debts caused by the banks and the fact that governments are spending more money than they are getting back from investments and taxes. Companies are cutting back on staff and freezing pay rises. So how do you make extra money in this difficult situation? Well the solution is fairly simple. Let me explain.

If you know how to set up a web site then that is half the battle. When you run your own website, you have control of how your income is earned. having set up your own web site you have to decide what niche market to enter. A niche market is one where your products are specifically target to a certain market. Then when someone enters what they are looking for into a search engine, it display all the websites advertising those products that they are looking for. That way the searches are targeted and not random. When you have a niche market, then you have people looking for what you are selling. It is like setting up, for instance, a gardening shop in the high street. The people that enter the shop are looking for a specific item that the shop might might sell. It is the same with on line niche markets. They are looking for a specific item that your web site sells.

There are many web sites that show you how to set up your own web site, and how to find a niche product. Just take your time looking into the various niche markets and i am sure you will find something that appeals to you. Then just set up your web site dedicated to that niche market.

Go on and give it a go, it is not that difficult to do.

The course advertised at the bottom of this page gives you all the information to set up and run your own niche business.

Best wishes
Stephen Hart

Movie Review - Knight and Day By Shaz Ferouz

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are back in this year's summer action comedy Knight and Day. It's the second movie both of these A list Hollywood actors have acted in after the 2001 film Vanilla Sky. Which was a pretty friggin weird movie if you recall. Formally titled "Wichita" and "Trouble man", this film originally slated Chris Tucker and Eva Mendes as the two lead roles. Apparently Chris Tucker didn't want to do the Movie unless Jackie Chan was included as well. He also insisted they changed the title to Rush Hour 4 for some reason. Seriously though I think it just came down to the fact that nobody would buy Tucker as a spy. This movie is far fetched as it is.

Anyway Tom Cruise plays a spy *que Mission Impossible Music*, not exactly like Ethan Hunt however he plays a less serious, cornier version of his Mission Impossible character called Roy Miller. Da Da Da Duh Dum. Cameron Diaz plays June Havens who unwittingly gets entangled with him at an airport and now her life is in danger.

I did like how the movie started but it slowly spiraled down a path of big smiles, unrealistic action and predictable humor. The only saving factor for this movie was the fact that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were acting in it. These two A list actors took what would have been a B grade movie and turned it into something that's actually semi watchable. I'm actually a little surprised both of them agreed to take the roles.

It was entertaining at some parts though and shot in various locations around the world. So if you're in the mood for a generic Hollywood action adventure where the bad guys have such terrible aim that even after thousands of bullets have been fired hitting everything in sight but still managing some how to miss main characters, this might be your movie. Otherwise you might want to save your money for Toy Story 3. I hear that might be a good one.

I rate this movie 2.5 out of 5

Your Data Recovery Options When the Hard Disk Crashes By Harry Lowrence

There are many data recovery options available in the market which can help you retrieve your critical data from the failed PC, but in choosing the one which can get the job done, make sure you know the charges involved.

Ask the technician exactly what it would cost you from head to tail, including several hypothetical scenarios. You must ask them because the final cost may get you into trouble. Below are some tips to help you.

Let us consider the "easy way out" option first. If you have some computer knowledge, then ask yourself, are you knowledgeable enough to use those inexpensive data recovery software program to bring your PC back to life again? My friends and I often go down that route and it worked wonders most of the time, depending on where the fault lies. It has saved us tons of money as a result. But if you know nuts about computers, then there is no other way out other then to send it to the service centre or get hold of a friend who can help you out.

Using software may make you poorer by about USD50 to USD100, so its within the reach of many people. But take note that the software option is useful only when the damage is not a physical damage but software damage.

If you don't know how to recover the data and neither does your friends or colleagues, then you need to send it to a data recovery centre. The experts there are trained in this field and they know what they are doing. But go for the established firms as their technicians are more experienced. But do realize that the cost can be quite high. Hundreds or thousands of buck per service is not unheard of, mind you. So, you have to ask yourself first whether you lost data is worth that much.

The cost for data recovery varies and it depends on the companies concerned. Some charge a flat rate, while others will charge based on factors such as disk size, amount of data to be recovered, delivery cost, media costs and how soon you want the data to be recovered. Other firms will charge a ceiling price, irrespective of whether they can recover the data or not.

Like most things, do scout around first and not simply go for the first data recovery centre which is listed on the phone directory. Ask your circle of friends and colleagues for advice. But in general, it is best to go for those which are reputable, offers a fast turn around time and provides an excellent service. I hope these tips can help you make informed decisions on your data recovery effort.

Harry Lowrence writes mostly on family issues and pets. His latest works are data recovery of deleted files and data recovery services.

Hard Drive Noise? By Joshua Martindale Platinum Quality Author

There are a few noises you never want to hear. Right up there on the list is a funny noise from your hard disk drive. A scraping, grinding, or rattling noise means there is definitely a problem. Before we examine what might be causing these noises, there is a first priority. If you have no current backup, it's the first thing you should do, starting with the most critical data files first. If you act immediately when you first hear a strange noise, you have a very good chance of backing up before the hard drive fails.

OK, now that we have a backup we can try and troubleshoot the cause of this noise coming from your hard drive. Hard drives have several moving parts. The platters (where the data is stored and read from) spin at tremendous speeds measured in RPMs. Even a slow hard drive these days goes at least 5400 revolutions per minute. The spindle that the platters sit on also spins at that speed. Then you have an armature that moves the device that reads the platters that constantly moves from the outside edge towards the center.

Any of these moving parts can wear out and start making noises. You can't really replace the interior parts due to cost and methods so your only choice is to replace the computer drive. Like I mentioned above, if you immediately act as soon as you hear the first strange noise, your hard drive may last a little longer. Many new hard drives come with software that can easily transfer your entire drive contents to your new one. So it's a huge advantage of transferring the contents from a working drive to the new disk drive.

Moving the contents is a huge time saver since you won't need to reinstall your operating system and any other software applications. And there are many other pieces of data like your email, address book, Browser Favorites, and even passwords or network settings. You never realize how much stuff you have on your computer until you lose it. Moving the entire system software and data is much easier and you won't lose anything.

If your hard disk doesn't come with software to copy the contents of your old drive to a new one, there are a couple good software programs that you can buy to do it. My first choice would be Acronis Migrate 7, it runs about $40 and can be used to make a backup image too. There are other programs out there but none as easy and bulletproof as Acronis.

If it comes to replacing your computer drive, there are certain aspects of your original drive that you want to check to make sure the new one is similar. Most times you can increase the size and the speed of your new hard drive for better performance and more data storage. Let say you had a 250 Gig SATA hard drive, that runs at 5400 RPM that is going to fail soon by the sound of it. You can easily get a 500 Gig SATA drive that runs at 7500 RPM (the faster it spins, the faster you can store and retrieve data) for around $65.

So you just doubled your storage capability and increased your access speed considerably. These new hard drives come with very simple instructions on replacing your old one. If the software that can copy the entire hard disk drive comes with your particular choice it will have information on exactly how to do this, often step by step instructions. Acronis Migrate 7 also includes complete instructions and are designed for even a novice user. And Acronis has great support too if you have any questions.

So if you hear a hard drive noise, the time to act is right then and there. Immediately backup all your data first. Then as soon as you can, buy a replacement drive and install it. It will be a minor issue. But it you ignore the hard drive noise, I guarantee you will have a much bigger problem and probably lose some important data.
